Burner generator: off until you enable it
Burner Generator reference
| Construction | 3 Tools, 4 Wood, 6 Stone, 10 Iron |
|---|---|
| Power | Generates power; no external power input in the Buildings table |
| Output / service | Wood or Wood Waste becomes Power and Soot; listed task time 15 seconds |
| Adjacency | Four empty neighboring tiles, including roads: -20% speed and -25% pollution |
| Pollution | Source conflict: building infobox says High; article prose and the Pollution table say Medium |
Source: Burner Generator on the official community wiki; power requirement table and pollution reference. These are documented wiki values, not measured throughput. Task duration is not units per second; staffing, hauling and active methods affect production. Conflicting source fields are labeled rather than resolved by guessing.
Hooded Horse names this building in the pinned FAQ: the Burner Generator and the Cleaner both ship with the production method disabled. I would select it, open Work, and enable it before I decide the power grid is broken. It is also a soot source. Continuous power, in the same FAQ, is how you stock soot, and it is how you drown in it.

- Early connections are adjacent green tiles. Blue is legal and unpowered. Rules.
- Hotfix #1 changed the range ring from pollution range to power range. Plan from the new ring.
- A full soot bin stops the generator. Store it or spend it in a Cleaner.
- The official FAQ’s startup checks are the production-method icons in Work, the building power toggle, staffing within housing range and required fuel. It does not state that a generator must consume its own electricity before it can generate power.
The reference above records the wiki construction cost, 15-second task duration and adjacency effect. It does not establish fuel quantities, numeric power output or exact tile range. The wiki lists Mine as the prerequisite and first 5 Iron Ore as the unlock event. Inspect the current Work panel and placement preview; an unknown output rate is not zero.
