Use the Woodcutter to supply Wood and Wood Waste while retaining forests that support the settlement’s atmosphere. The publisher-hosted wiki lists a 5-second task, a storage bonus from surrounding Forests and a speed penalty next to another Woodcutter. Those documented effects replace the older Fandom Demo neighbor claims on this page.
The official community wiki says the Woodcutter does not overharvest forests: it waits for regrowth when nearby trees are unavailable. That conflicts with media advice claiming no automatic regrowth, so the media claim is not used here. The official starter guide establishes that a full by-product store stops production even if the primary resource has space. Plan waste use or storage alongside wood collection.
The official starter guide says forests absorb pollution within 4 tiles and forest planting expands atmosphere. Removing forest near industry therefore removes that protection. Replanting is a terraforming task; the guide describes compost and saplings without giving a Woodcutter upgrade recipe. Check both the workplace road and the home’s employment boundary before treating an idle worker as a production bug.
